A classic American girl story, Meghan Rose St. Thomas always had dreams of leaving her small town life for a future of acting in NYC. Meghan began doing community and regional theater at the age of 12. Starring in The Glove Theaters children’s shows Meghan performed the roles of some of Disney’s finest characters long before their Broadway run. Such roles include Ursula in the Little Mermaid, the Genie of the lamp in Aladdin and a Chimney sweep in Mary Poppins. After several auditions for the role of Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ Meghan was graciously rewarded the role of The Wicked Witch of The West which has not yet affected her life in any way. Meghan also appeared in the theaters professional resident company as Louisa in the Sound of Music, Vibrata in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum, children’s ensemble in The King and I and children’s choir in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor dream coat.
Performing in both her middle school and High school Drama clubs some of her favorite roles included Queenie in Showboat, Feste in Twelfth Night and Edwina in Dear Edwina. Meghan also ranked in the top 20 of her class and was runner up for prom Queen. She stayed an active skate boarder/snow boarder and participated in band and choir. Meghan was a finalist in the ESU Shakespeare competition and was selected as one of 12 students to attend the New York State Theater Institute’s state wide internship for the arts, where she performed in several of their shows under the direction of some of Broadway’s greatest’s, Pat Birch and Ron Holgate.
Meghan received her BFA in acting from SUNY Purchases conservatory of acting where she was awarded the most outstanding actor award/scholarship
from the college. A proud enthusiast for strange characters Meghan’s most noted roles at the school where Annie In The Gut Girls Directed by Trazana Beverley, and Mrs. Slater in David Lindsey Abaire’s A Devil Inside directed by Chris McCann.
She has appeared in several acclaimed Off-Broadway theater’s including the time out New York’s Critic’s Pick The Woodsman at 59E59 Theater and Penny Jackson’s I Know What Boys Want presented by Ego Actus Theater Company at the Lion’s Theater in Theater Row. She starred as the lead role Siobhan in James McLindon’s Comes a Faery at the Obie award winning New Ohio Theater Directed by Shaun Peknic; the associate director of Once on Broadway. Soon after she was in the Obie award winning show and cult classic The Woodsman at New World Stages which aired on Broadway HD and PBS . Recently Meghan played the lead role Nina in an all star cast of Penny Jacksons Safe at the 14th st. Y theater. She will be making her ABC Debut on Love and Longitude produced by Rainn Wilson in November stay tuned!
